Out of Sight Out of Mind.....
Helloooooooo, We're still here. If you are reading this, please write: rennoldc@bellsouth.net Maybe everyoone has been particularly busy the last couple days - our email box has been empty. We get a huge boost from hearing what is going on in YOUR life so please write.... :)
Whatever momentary bout of enthusiasm I had mid-week has long since disapaited. I'm tired and cranky and want to come home. The smell of smoke lingers everywhere, as the clean air campaign has not yet caught on here. In fact, that was the first thing I noticed upon entering Boryspil Airport in Kiev. Remember how the US was 20 years ago - people smoked in their offices, on the street, in restaurants, in their car? Well, that's how it is here.
Top that off with our garlic loving neighbors on one side of us, and our European Techno Music loving neighbors on the other side of us and you can understand why my cranky factor is above 5. Alex (along with the great chocolate here) is what makes it all bearable.
Well our driver is here to take us to our friend Larisa Papay's house. It will be a treat to see her and especially because we have permission to bring Alex AND his friend Andrey. I will post more after we come home.
Please write......

We live in Manitoba, Canada. We are following your blog and praying for your arrival home. I'm not looking forward to the smokey streets. It's easy to take our current surroundings forgranted. May your travels speed up! God bless.
Hey Cynthia and Randy! Don't worry - we're all still with you in spirit! I check your blog several times a day to see how you all are doing. I know it's a long haul over there; hang in there. One day it will all be just "fond" memories (believe it or not!). I read where you have your court date coming up. That's great!!! I'll email you more on your email address.
Hugs to all,
Mike, Kim, Sveta, and Alexandra
I really enjoy following your story on a regular basis. My husband and I are planning on adopting in Ukraine and will be requesting an 8-15 y.o. girl. I hope you will continue posting about Alex's journey and adjustment. Good luck with everything! I will pray for a successful and speedy return home.
Hey Hey - having only been home a week, we are totally relating to your experiences. Hope it has warmed up some. We know it's hard to wait - believe me we know!!! There were some days I just longed for the simplest of things - my pillow, a real shower, a sign in English that I could read, an English speaking TV show, my dog, Starbucks . . . So hang in there. Labor and delivery is tough - but so worth it. Once you get home, all of this will be just a distant memory!!
